Archiving as an Information Science. Evidence from a Survey Carried out on a Sample of Greek Students

New technology has always been andcertainly is today a key factor in the evolution ofinformation. The emergence of archival science as anautonomous discipline and its integration into the widerfield of information science is in many ways a result of recent technological developments. In this paper wepresent in summary a part of a survey carried out on asample of Greek students (including students of libraryand archival science) that aimed to map and clarifyperceptions of the archive among the students as well astheir understanding on the nature of archival science
